NetScientific portfolio company Wanda gets US patent to further protect its core technology

San Francisco-based Wanda is dedicated to advancing the effectiveness and efficiency of medicine by using machine learning in place of conventional technologies

Healthcare software company Wanda, a portfolio company of NetScientific PLC (LON:NSCI), has been awarded a US patent relating to its core technology.

The patent will significantly extend protection for the technology used in Wanda's software application for remote health and patient management, NetScientifc said.

The patent, titled, "Context-aware prediction in medical systems", is among the technologies developed at UCLA that aim to better assess and predict medical events by defining and using contextual data on top of medical information.

NetScientific, which specialises in backing companies with technology that can improve the health or relieve the suffering of those with chronic diseases, has a 61% stake in Wanda.

"We are delighted to announce this strengthening of the IP [intellectual property] landscape for Wanda, which represents an important step for Wanda's organisational development,” said François Martelet, chief executive officer of NetScientific and chairman of Wanda.

“We believe Wanda's class leading predictive and behavioural analytics platform acts as a competitive differentiator in the emerging and highly exciting Digital Health sector," Martelet said.
