Maximus is continuing discussions with multiple parties

Maximus Resources Limited (ASX:MXR) has revealed that crushing operations have commenced at its Burbanks gold treatment plant located in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

Significantly, the plant is now moving from commissioning to production status.

The Burbanks mill has an annual capacity of 180,000 tonnes with a continuous improvement program being implemented to improve throughput rates and to reduce costs.

The plant was purchased by Maximus in August 2016 and refurbished in early 2017.

Maximus has a toll treatment agreement with Empire Resources (ASX:ERL) for the supply of up to 150,000 tonnes of gold ore from Empire’s Penny’s Find gold project to the Burbanks plant.

The ore supplied from the Penny’s Find project has been introduced into the crusher.

There is currently 8,600 tonnes of ore on the Burbanks run-of-mine ore pad with ore haulage continuing at between 15,000 to 20,000 tonnes per month.

The toll treatment agreement enables ore to be supplied to Burbanks from multiple sources, including ore sourced from Maximus’ own Spargoville projects in the Eastern Goldfields.

Maximus is continuing discussions with multiple parties for the supply of additional tonnes throughout 2017 and 2018 to ensure that mill performance is maintained at full capacity.
