The Character Group PLC (LON:CCT) shares received a boost after the toy maker said it has secured the rights to distribute Pokemon products in the UK and Ireland.
The company, which makes Peppa Pig soft toys, was appointed the master toy distributor in a deal with the brand’s global master toy licensee, US-based Wicked Cool Toys.
The deal will allow the group to add action figures, playsets, plush, role play and other toys based on the hit animated series Pokemon to its portfolio from summer 2018.
"We are thrilled to be adding such an iconic and powerhouse property as Pokémon to Character's product line up,” said Jon Diver, joint managing director at Character.
