Mariana Resources (AIM & PLUS: MARL) and Dynasty Metals and Mining (TSX: DMM) announced that recent drilling at their 50/50 Macara Joint Venture has returned high grade gold intercepts in 3 of 8 scout holes.
This programme was designed to test gold grades under old artisanal workings where Mariana has previously obtained samples of up to 42 grams/tonne. Intercepts included 33.2 grams per tonne gold over 1.70 metres and 25.7 grams per tonne gold over 1.13 metres.
John Sutcliffe, managing director of Mariana, said:
"The initial drilling at Macara has returned some encouraging, narrow, high grade intersections and the gold mineralization is now confirmed to be of the skarn-type, clearly associated with the contact between the volcanic and sedimentary rocks and the intrusive rocks."
