AIM 100 and AIM All-Share index rise during week

Small caps were buoyant this week. The FTSE AIM 100 index rallied 2.34%, while the FTSE AIM All-Share index climbed 0.6%.

Seeing Machines (AIM: SEE) has raised gross proceeds of £3.3 million through the placing of 93.6 million new shares at 3.5p each to institutional and other investors. The money will be used to accelerate the roll-out and sale of the DSS product into the mining industry, notably by investing in its sales and support presence in Australia, Africa and the Americas.

Environmental products and services group Straight PLC (AIM: STT) has been named as one of four successful bidders for a framework agreement to supply plastic wheeled bins to two local government purchasing and distribution consortia - the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) and the Central Buying Consortium (CBC).

Shares in Healthcare Locums (AIM: HLO) soared after the company announced a takeover approach that could potentially lead to an offer being made for the company.

Lonrho (AIM: LONR) announced that it has now completed its acquisition of the John Deere and Komatsu dealerships in Mozambique. The deal has been completed in line with the formal heads of agreement, signed on 18 February 2010.

NetPlay TV (AIM: NPT) has added Safe Charge International Ltd to its approved list of payment services providers and risk management solutions. The agreement is non-exclusive and does not stipulate a minimum or maximum level of transactions that need to be conducted through Safe Charge.

ImmuPharma (LSE: IMM) was the winner of the New Economy Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Awards for 2010. This adds to two recent awards, “Breakthrough of the Year 2009” European Mediscience Award and “Best Technology Award” at the AIM Awards 2009, organized by the London Stock Exchange.

In an update ahead of its H1 results, British pub-group Marston's (AIM: MARS) said it remains on track to meet its expectations for the financial year, and it continues to see an improvement in each of its trading divisions. Whilst Marston’s acknowledged that the trading environment remains challenging, it said it is encouraged by the performance in the first half year.

Telit Communications (AIM: TCM) announced that its Wireless Solutions subsidiary has reached a major sales milestone with the delivery of its two-millionth GE864 module. Telit said this successful sales performance has been accompanied by Telit’s outstanding financial performance, showing a growth rate of 30% in the last six months of 2009.
