Rome Resources Plc (AIM:RMR) told investors it expects to start its 2026 field programme this week at its New Brunswick tin-tungsten-indium project in eastern Canada, marking its first exploration work as operator of the licences.
The AIM-listed explorer said the programme will cover three priority target areas (Schoullar Mountain, Square Lake and Victoria Lake) with more than 500 samples planned from surface and trench sampling.
Rome expects to spend a maximum of CA$150,000 on the fieldwork, after which it will assess whether to exercise its option to acquire working interests in early-stage exploration licences covering 109 square kilometres of mining claims.
The land package sits close to the historic Mount Pleasant Tungsten Mine, a past-producing tungsten operation, and targets granite-related tin, tungsten and indium mineralisation in southwestern New Brunswick.
Chief executive Paul Barrett said the Mount Douglas granite system hosts “one of the most prospective tin-tungsten-indium districts in eastern Canada”, adding that the company was also working towards an updated mineral resource estimate for its Bisie North project.
