Lightning Minerals Ltd is a mineral exploration company focused on the exploration of critical minerals and lithium at its tenements across Western Australia.
The recent acquisition of the Caraíbas, Sidrônio (now Canabrava) and Esperança lithium projects in Minas Gerais, Brazil are potentially transformational to the company’s success in the lithium sector. The company also owns the Dundas project in the prolific Dundas region of Western Australia, the Dalmas and Hiver lithium projects in Quebec, Canada, another significant and evolving lithium region globally.
Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M, FRA:YZ1) has defined two new gold target areas across the 5-kilometre-long Western Zone at its wholly owned Mt Turner Gold Project in northern Queensland, advancing the corridor from a conceptual target toward potential drill testing.
The results include a 1,000-metre-long gold anomaly in the northern part of the Western Zone associated with a broader 1,400-metre multi-element anomaly interpreted as a potential hydrothermal footprint. The gold anomaly remains open to the south, while the broader thermal vector anomaly remains open to the east.
In the south, Lightning has identified four sub-parallel gold trends extending around 200 to 300 metres along strike, with soil assays peaking at 330 parts per billion gold.
Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M, FRA:YZ1) has returned high-grade tungsten assays of up to 5.46% W from Phase 2 rock chip sampling at its 100%-owned Warby Tungsten Project in North Queensland, reinforcing earlier results and extending known mineralised veins to the southeast.
Five of the six rock chip samples assayed above 1.00% tungsten, with results including 5.46% W, 3.46% W, 2.51% W, 1.56% W and 1.31% W. The program also returned gold and tin, including a sample grading 2.22ppm gold, 1.31% tungsten and 0.21% tin, providing further evidence of polymetallic mineralisation at the project.
Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M, FRA:YZ1) earlier this week outlined accelerated exploration activity across its flagship northern Queensland projects during the June quarter, following a strategic reset focused on gold and critical minerals.
Managing director Troy Brice said the company had completed four field programs during the period, supported by petrology, geochemistry and geophysical work across the Mt Turner Gold Project and the Warby Tungsten Project.
Carefully cultivated resilience, a burning desire to prove the naysayers wrong and a strong social conscience.
Those three qualities led Alex Biggs, a working-class Brit from the southeast of London, to a decades-long career in the Australian mining industry and the CEO’s desk at Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M).
Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M) managing director Alex Biggs talked with Proactive about the company’s ramp-up of activities at its Mt Turner Gold Project in Queensland, following the proposed acquisition of Lotus Minerals. The acquisition brings in advanced-stage gold and copper assets, and Biggs confirmed that work is already underway at the site.
“So we've just announced the proposed acquisition of Lotus Minerals,” Biggs said. “One of the assets within Lotus is the Mt Turner Gold Project… it gives us the opportunity to get on the ground pretty quickly, do some work and be fairly confident in the positive results.”
Initial soil sampling is being funded by Lotus as part of the deal, with plans for drilling to follow the company’s upcoming AGM. Biggs also highlighted the strategic value of adding brownfield projects with clear targets to the company’s portfolio.
