Powerhouse Energy lands contract with Welsh battery developer

Powerhouse Energy Group PLC (AIM:PHE, FRA:BT81) has secured a £260,000 contract with a Welsh battery developer, marking what the company described as its first revenue-generating project outside its Engsolve engineering services arm.

The AIM-listed waste-to-energy technology group said the work involves providing thermal processing expertise, modifying test kilns and supporting the client in developing novel anode material. Revenue from the contract is expected to be received over the next eight months.

Powerhouse also said progress continues at its Ballymena project, where it has submitted a water and sewage application to NI Water, responded to noise study queries and is preparing an imminent response to air quality queries.

Waste from its preferred Northern Ireland supplier has also been received at the Bridgend site for testing in the company’s FTU.

Business development activity is also advancing through the company’s joint venture with Green Gecko, including engagement in the Middle East and Europe. Powerhouse said it currently has around ten live enquiries that it believes could become revenue-generating projects.

Chief executive Paul Emmitt said the latest work “further endorse[s] our technology offering” and has the potential to provide “meaningful revenues in the future”.
