Connecting Excellence Group Plc (AQSE:XCE, OTCQB:XCELF) CEO Scott Ellam talked with Proactive about the company’s dual-engine strategy combining a scalable executive recruitment platform with a disciplined Bitcoin balance sheet strategy.
Ellam explained that Connecting Excellence, through its core recruitment brand Spencer Riley, places senior candidates globally across sectors including professional services, engineering, logistics, and life sciences. “We are sector and regionally agnostic, and have a platform for growth,” he said.
Importantly, the business operates with a unique financial model underpinned by Bitcoin holdings. “We brought the Bitcoin balance sheet into the business in 2021,” Ellam noted, “and it allowed us to strengthen the balance sheet and attract top talent.” The company’s Bitcoin treasury supports share-based incentives, helping drive performance and long-term staff retention.
Discussing innovation in financial instruments, Ellam described the company’s BTC-denominated convertible bond, aimed at institutional investors. “The solution for us is it allows us to move Bitcoin onto our balance sheet unencumbered, by repaying those bonds with shares,” he explained.
XCE’s performance metrics include increasing Bitcoin per share and maintaining a low average Bitcoin purchase price - currently at $80,000 per BTC. The group has grown its Bitcoin holdings, while also scaling its operating business with high-performing talent.
The company is also building a Bitcoin-focused executive recruitment division, responding to demand from crypto-native and traditional firms. “We’re working with Bitcoin investment funds and mining companies, as well as preparing traditional businesses to adopt Bitcoin as a corporate asset,” said Ellam.
