AGL shares slump on profit miss and gas contract concerns

AGL Energy shares tumbled 12% to a 16-month low of $9.02 after FY25 profit missed estimates by around 5%.

Barrenjoey said the company’s plan to offset coal and gas re-contracting impacts through earnings from flexible assets and strategy execution “highlight[ed] the size of the hole from gas contracts.”

Shares last traded at $9.02, down 12%.
