Bain Capital reportedly prepares $4bn sale of WinTriX China operations

Bain Capital is seeking buyers for the Chinese division of data centre firm WinTriX DC Group in a transaction that could be valued at more than $4bn, according to a Reuters report citing people familiar with the discussions.

The private equity firm has reportedly appointed advisers and held early talks with potential investors. The business, previously known as Chindata, is expected to deliver nearly 4 billion yuan in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation in 2025.

Bain took Chindata private in 2022 for $3.2 billion and later separated its Chinese and overseas operations under the WinTriX umbrella.

The group continues to own Bridge Data Centres, which operates outside China and recently secured $2.8 billion in financing to support expansion plans.
