London Stock Exchange reportedly goes on the front foot to stem New York stampede

The London Stock Exchange is pushing back against the growing trend of companies eyeing New York listings by warning of the hidden costs and risks of floating in the US, The Sunday Times has reported.

In a new analysis sent to banks and IPO hopefuls, the LSE argues that London offers lower fees, broader investor diversity, and fewer legal liabilities for directors compared with New York.

The exchange also challenges the assumption that US listings always secure better valuations, pointing to mixed results from firms that have moved stateside.

The move comes as high-profile listings like Shein and Verisure remain up for grabs. London, which saw more companies leave than join its market last year, is under pressure to revive its appeal.
