Coca-Cola shares move higher on strong quarterly report

The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO) shares moved higher after the beverage giant posted better-than-expected financial results for the fourth quarter.

Sales of $11.5 billion were far higher than the $10.7 billion expected by analysts and represented 6% year-over-year growth.

Earnings per share of $0.55 topped estimates of $0.52, a 12% improvement from the year-ago quarter.

Price/mix growth was 9% while unit case volume was up 2%.

For the full year, organic revenue increased by 12%, above Coca-Cola’s guidance of a 10% increase.

“Our all-weather strategy is working, and we continue to demonstrate our ability to lead through dynamic external environments,” Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey said in a statement.

“Our global scale, coupled with local-market expertise and the unwavering dedication of our people and our system, uniquely position us to capture the vast opportunities ahead.”

The company expects revenue growth of 5% to 6% in 2025 and adjusted earnings growth of 2% to 3% above the $2.88 reported for 2024. This is below Street estimates of a 3.2% increase to $2.94.

Shares of Coca-Cola traded up 3.5% at about $67 late morning on Tuesday.
