Rome Resources to drill deeper at Mont Agoma after record tin widths

Rome Resources Plc (AIM:RMR) said recent drill results at Mont Agoma in the North Kivu province of the DRC returned record widths of tin across three discrete zones and indications of higher grades further down

Combined widths of 38.4m and 32.1m were recorded in two holes, one of which ended in mineralisation.

Rome added that increased tin grades and visible cassiterite (tin mineral) were noted within the deeper intersection in one of the holes [MADD017] backing up its zonation model that mineralisation increases at depth.

As a result, drilling will now be concentrated on how the mineralisation develops 100m below current intercepts.

Paul Barrett, chief executive, added: ''We are extremely encouraged by the widths and grades of tin mineralisation intersected in holes MADD016A and MADD017 which confirms tin, copper and zinc mineralisation within the upper levels of the mineralised zonation model where lower grade tin is expected in association with high-grade copper.

“With more than 200m width of confirmed sulphide mineralisation, it is becoming increasingly clear that we are unlocking a complex mineralised system with an increase in widths of tin mineralisation towards the base of the copper zone.

“Our ongoing deeper drilling campaign will soon reach similar depths where Alphamin's main resources are located.

“The results from these last two holes significantly increases our confidence in finding high-grade tin mineralisation as new drilling moves to deeper levels, and we look forward to updating the market as the drilling programme continues to progress.''
