The UK government has sold another chunk of its stake in NatWest Group PLC (LSE:NWG), bringing the shareholding to below 20%.
According to a regulatory filing this morning, UK Government Investments Ltd reduced the stake to 6,645,166,452 shares, or 19.97%, down from 20.92% before.
A wholly-owned vehicle of HM Treasury, UK Government Investments has held a stake in the FTSE 100 lender since the bail-out of what was then called Royal Bank of Scotland in the depths of the global financial crisis.
This morning's sale follows several others this year, with three last month that cut the stake from just under 26% at the end of May.
Rishi Sunak's decision in May to call a snap general election delayed the government's plans for a retail offer.
There were reports that the plans have been put "in the deep freeze".
