Shield Therapeutics revenues almost trebled in 2023 as sales of its Accrufer/Feraccru iron deficiency treatment ramped up in the US.
Revenues rose to US$17.5 million, a 2.8 times increase over the previous year with US sales of Accrufer up over three times at US$11.6 million.
Operating losses were US$31.3 million compared to US $49.8m with cash and equivalents of US$13.9 million at the end of the year.
Shield added: “We have dramatically increased the number of prescriptions for Accrufer in the US as we continue to build out awareness of the product and fine-tune our commercial efforts.
“As we move into 2024, we will come upon the one-year anniversary of our full commercial launch alongside [partner] Viatris and expect our commercial execution to continue to improve.
“We should complete our paediatric study during 2024, opening up expansion opportunities in both the US and EU in future years.”
