Amazon staff in the UK walk out again

Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) warehouse workers in Coventry are asking for the public to join a rally in the middle of a week-long strike.

Around 500 staff are taking industrial action, up from 300 workers in January, when Amazon UK staff went on strike for the first time.

Workers are hoping for an offer at around £15 per hour, saying existing rates are only 8p more than the incoming national minimum wage.

GMB estimates that the industrial action has cost the company more than £2mln.

The US online retail giant previously stated that the protests represented only a small portion of Amazon workers and that it had not begun talks with the union.
