Barton Gold Holdings Ltd has completed the drilling phase supporting its next resource upgrade at the Tunkillia Gold Project in South Australia, with final assays returning some of the strongest intersections from the campaign.
The latest results include 53 metres at 2.51 g/t gold from 60 metres, including 2 metres at 18.25 g/t and 1 metre at 26.3 g/t.
Another hole returned 21 metres at 4.13 g/t gold from 61 metres, including 2 metres at 29.9 g/t, while a separate intersection delivered 26 metres at 2.79 g/t from 126 metres, including 1 metre at 53.5 g/t.
The results were recorded within areas being considered for initial starter pits.
Resource update next
The assays complete Barton’s Phase 2 resource-upgrade program, which comprised about 38,760 metres of drilling across 311 holes.
Combined with Phase 1, the company has completed more than 57,000 metres of reverse circulation and diamond drilling across 520 holes.
Barton is now preparing updated gold and silver mineral resource estimates for Tunkillia.
The company is also targeting completion of a pre-feasibility study during the first quarter of 2027, which will support a subsequent mining lease application.
Tunkillia is emerging as one of Barton’s central development assets as the company looks to establish a new South Australian gold production platform.
The latest intersections are particularly important because they strengthen confidence in higher-grade zones sitting within potential early mining areas.
With gold prices remaining historically elevated, improving the grade and confidence of material available during the opening stages of a development could have a substantial impact on project economics.
