Tony Locantro, stock market commentator and investment manager at Alto Capital, has his weekly discussion with Proactive Investors, this time educating on the topic of 'ten baggers' and how to pick them.
A ten bagger is a stock that is exited when it is priced at ten times the initial investment. Locantro elaborates, "it's a huge return, beats the eight or nine percent growth in the All Ords or the ASX 200. So these are mainly in the speculative area, but if you buy a blue chip when you're young and hold it forever, you can get them in blue chips... the secret for me is getting a good grounding on speculation, and what a bubble is and how to handle bubbles, and history lessons. Then you need to know what share structures are conducive for a ten bagger."
