Disney’s Web3 accelerator fund invests in Polygon blockchain

Disney has announced the participants of its 2022 Disney Accelerator programme aimed at supporting technology and entertainment startups.

Among the participants is the Polygon blockchain, whose US$5bln MATIC network token rose 16% following the announcement.

Other participants of the accelerator are the:

  • Obsess e-commerce platform
  • Flickplay social NFT platform
  • Inworld artificial intelligence platform
  • Red 6 augmented reality platform and
  • Lockerverse brand NFT platform

The Disney accelerator is open to venture-backed, growth-stage startups and provides investment capital, co-working space, mentoring and guidance from Disney executives.
