About the company

Westar Resources Ltd (ASX:WSR) is a Perth-based mineral exploration company focused on creating value for shareholders through the development of gold assets in Western Australia.

The company’s projects are in some of Western Australia’s most prolific goldfields including Sandstone, Mt Magnet, Southern Cross and Nullagine.

Westar has consolidated its landholding in the Mt Magnet district to more than 300 square kilometres through the granting of a tenement immediately south of the Coolaloo Project.

How it is doing

20 Sep 2021

Westar Resources Ltd (ASX:WSR) has identified prospective geology for gold and base metals following targeting work and first-pass mapping at the Opaline Well Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

A detailed litho-structural interpretation and targeting exercise completed by geophysical specialists, PGN geoscience, has provided encouragement.

Adding to this has been a reconnaissance exploration program consisting of first-pass geological prospect mapping from two areas of interest.

There were 63 rock chip samples collected that confirmed gold anomalism and the potential to host base metals mineralisation (VMS), including copper, cobalt, nickel and zinc.

23 Aug 2021

Westar Resources Ltd (ASX:WSR)’s maiden reverse circulation (RC) campaign at the Winjangoo Gold Project at Mount Magnet in WA is now complete.

The precious metals explorer executed 38 drill holes for nearly 3,000 metres over several high-priority targets at the wholly-owned gold play.

15 Jul 2021

Westar Resources Ltd (ASX:WSR) has identified six separate high priority conductors for base metals during geophysical studies at the Gidgee North Project in Western Australia.

The studies were conducted by Southern Geoscience Consultants (SGC) and PGN Geoscience (PGN) using SkyTEM data and as well as base metals, they have also indicated potential for gold.

What management says

28 Jul 2021

Westar Resources Ltd (ASX:WSR)'s Karl Jupp tells Proactive they're set for strong results-driven newsflow in the coming months across its project portfolio in Western Australia. At Gidgee South he says they're awaiting assays from the recent reverse circulation drill program. Once received, they will be uploaded into the database prior to review and interpretation by Westar geologists. Meanwhile at Gidgee North, the company's completed a review of the open file Panoramic 2015 SkyTEM data and historical geochemical datasets to assess the region for base-metals prospectivity which will be reported in due course.
