Sipa Resources Ltd (ASX:SRI) has started a 1,500-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program to test base metal targets at the Wolfe Basin Project in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
The program comprises 12 holes and is designed to test the subsurface expression of outcropping gossanous ironstones indicative of base metal mineralisation.
Sipa has the option to expand the program further if favourable results are received.
A recently completed IP survey across the area of interest produced chargeability responses consistent with sulphide mineralisation.
This survey consisted of a series of east-west oriented, 100-metre spaced lines with 50-metre spaced receivers over an area of around 1 square kilometre.
Sipa geologists interpreted the data to assist in finalising drill targets in preparation for the arrival of the drill contractor with none of the targets having been previously drill tested.
In addition, earthworks for drill pads and access were have been completed under the supervision of the Native Title party.
