YPB believes there is a large market opportunity for its contact tracing-enabled codes as venues upgrade existing technology

YPB Group Limited’s (ASX:YPB) proprietary Connect Platform has been enabled, with its QR Codes now ready for deployment in venue-based COVID-19 contact tracing anywhere in the world.

The platform has been extensively trialled and tested across South East Asia and Australia and is now enabled for COVID-19 contact tracing.

YPB Group CEO John Houston said: “YPB’s Connect based QR codes have been used extensively by our customers in multiple markets safely and successfully for a number of years.

“We have been able to enable the technology with the latest AI functionality to deliver a vastly superior contact tracing capability.

Adhere to state or national regulations

Houston highlighted that the company would at all times, respect the privacy of the consumer.

In providing this solution, the product authentication and consumer engagement solutions provider will adhere to all the relevant state or national regulations.

Large market opportunity

Although the impact on YPB’s revenue is not yet known, the company believes there is a large market opportunity for its contact tracing-enabled codes as venues upgrade existing technology to platforms that have the latest functionality to protect their businesses, and new venues seek to enhance patronage and ensure consumers are safe by deploying a new QR code system.

“As more venues start to open up and take larger numbers of people, demand for contact tracing technology has the potential to grow,” Houston added.

Equipped with AI algorithms

The platform can now be offered to shops, malls restaurants and entertainment venues for COVID-19 contact tracing.

All data collected is made immediately available to the venue owner/operator through YPB’s cloud-based platform.

YPB’s COVID-19 contact tracing platform is equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, which can rapidly identify a person’s movements and locations based on their device use after scanning QR codes through the Connect platform.
