Panoramic Resources Ltd (ASX:PAN) has successfully transitioned all underground mining activities at the Savannah Nickel Mine in WA to the stewardship of leading underground contractor, Barminco Limited.
Barminco has rapidly mobilised its key personnel and initial equipment to site, with the underground transition and full operational handover occurring ahead of schedule on March 1, 2020.
Further new underground fleet is expected to arrive at the Savannah Mine over the coming weeks.
Improved operational efficiencies
The newer mining fleet supplied by Barminco is expected to deliver enhanced equipment reliability.
Together with Barminco’s proven expertise and operating systems, this is expected to significantly increase operational efficiencies and drive production volumes towards targeted levels.
Panoramic mined 129,522 tonnes of ore at 0.98% nickel, 0.57% copper and 0.05% cobalt from its flagship Savannah Project during the December 2019 quarter.
In January 2020, the company raised $32.7 million from a one-for-six rights issue that saw shares issued at 30 cents.
