Platina Resources Ltd (ASX:PGM) has confirmed high-grade zinc intersections at the Blue Moon Zinc-Copper-Gold Project in California, USA, after completing a drilling program.

Diamond drill hole BMZ79 intersected the highest zinc interval to date returning 1.71 metres at 51.9% zinc, 1.49% copper, 0.05% lead, 0.85 g/t gold and 31.9 g/t silver from 414.65 metres.

The massive sulphide intersection at hole BMZ79 from 414.96 metres to 417.30 metres

Other intervals from this hole include 7.47 metres at 25.55% zinc, 0.87% copper, 0.68 g/t gold and 17 g/t silver from 412.81 metres, including 3.05 metres at 49.6% zinc, 1.39% copper, 0.91 g/t gold and 30 g/t silver from 414.65 metres.

A second mineralised zone from 450.37 metres returned 10.96 metres at 3.11% zinc, 0.47% copper and 0.27% lead, including 2.08 metres at 4.22% zinc from 457.16 metres.

Zone extended

These intervals are 50 metres above the high-grade mineralisation intersected by diamond hole BMZ78 drilled in 2018 and extends the zone of mineralisation within the main mineralised horizon.

To date, four lenses of zinc-copper mineralisation have been defined at Blue Moon within up to three horizons, which also contains gold and silver.

In December 2019 Platina intersected visible massive and semi-massive sulphide mineralisation from its second drill hole at the Blue Moon project.

Hole BMZ80 was drilled to a total depth of 572 metres and intersected 30 metres of mineralisation from 385 metres with variable concentration of visible zinc and copper mineralisation.

The project, in which Platina is earning up to a 70% interest, has an NI 43-101 resource that is open at depth and along strike.

Platina also has the following interests:

Platina Scandium Project in central New South Wales. The project is one of the largest and highest-grade scandium deposits in the world and has the potential to become Australia’s first scandium producer with cobalt, planum and nickel credits.
