On completion of the Rex-3 well, Whitebark will earn a 50% working interest.
’s () has completed the fracture stimulation program for its third oil well Rex-3 at the Wizard Lake Project in Canada.
The 46 stage frac program involved the high-pressure injection of over 1,300 tonnes of proppant into the well to create cracks in order to extract oil and gas from the Rex formation.
The program lasted just over 30 hours.
Flow testing to follow
The next phase of the program, flowback and testing, should start within 48 hours.
As is the practice by other operators in the area, a high-volume, submersible pump will be used to assist with the recovery of frac fluids and to optimise the oil recovery rate.
