Aguia Resources Ltd (ASX:AGR) has identified anomalous zones of elevated copper and gold, including a gold-in-soil anomaly measuring more than 500 metres, at Carlotta target within the Andrade Copper Project in southern Brazil.
The Andrade project is ready to be drilled with eight surrounding copper targets being prepared.
Aguia has been intensifying mapping and surface sampling over some of the recently discovered copper, silver and gold targets in the region.
At Carlotta target rock and soil sampling has identified zones of elevated copper and gold including rock chip samples of up to 48 g/t gold and 1.63% copper.
A trench was sampled in the northern portion of this trend returning 8 metres grading 0.97 g/t gold.
Further to the north of Carlotta, an individual grab rock sample returned 13.4 g/t gold and 0.16% copper.
Seival copper-silver target
The Seival target is crossed by two major north-northeast trending regional faults which are both mapped to extend northwards, where they narrow and pass through the Andrade Copper Project.
It is believed that fluids from the more recent emplacement of granite may have mobilised up these faults to near-surface and are the source of copper occurrences mapped at surface.
Soil sampling at the Seival target is in progress and recent grab samples of sandstone outcrops have returned up to 2.3% copper.
Passo Feio target
The Passo Feio target was identified through regional geophysics as a 16 square kilometre magnetic low.
Sampling has returned 1.55% copper and 2.1% copper in different rock types.
Soil sampling is in progress to follow-up on these initial results.
Two trenches were opened and are being sampled with results expected soon.
