RPM Automotive Group Ltd's (ASX:RPM) subsidiary Spider GT has executed an agreement to exclusively distribute the Landsail Tyre product range in Australia and New Zealand.
The two-year agreement with Landsail Sports International Corporation Ltd (LSIC), a subsidiary of Qingdao Sentury Tire Co Ltd, covers the entire range of Landsail motorsport tyre products.
It will mean that RPM Automotive Group (RPMAG) now has exclusive Australasian distribution rights with three world-class Chinese tyre manufacturers.
Relationships with class-leading manufacturers
RPMAG chief executive officer Clive Finkelstein noted the agreement would grow and strengthen the company’s wholesale tyre operations.
He said: “Landsail joins our other exclusive distribution agreements with the Longmarch and Tianli tyre brands and further showcases our strong relationship with a number of class-leading tyre manufacturers in China.”
As an introduction to the new product range, Spider GT will first focus on the Landsail motorsport tyres.
RPMAG plans to introduce the range to its existing customers in motorsport through subsidiary Revolution Racegear, using its five company-owned stores and multiple franchise stores.
“Ability to cross-sell”
Finkelstein added: “One of our key focuses in the short-term is to aggressively grow our wholesale tyre business and the ability to cross-sell through Revolution Racegear will no doubt accelerate our new motorsport tyre program.
“The capital cost required to start selling Landsail will be minimal due to most of the infrastructure being already in place.”
Car and tyre-related businesses
RPMAG was founded in 2013 and owns brands such as RPM, Carline, Genie Headers, Air Anywhere, Formula Off-Road and Fix-My-Truck.
The company’s businesses are involved in importing, wholesaling and retailing of tyres, mechanical repairs, motorsport apparel and safety equipment, niche manufacturing and roadside assistance.
Landsail parent Qingdao Sentury Tire manufactures up to 25 million PCR, aircraft and motorsport tyres a year from facilities in China and Thailand.
Its distribution covers more than 150 jurisdictions globally and tyre products are internally developed through its extensive research and development.
