Cyril Sweett Group wins project work for King Abdullah Financial District development in Saudi Arabia

Construction consultancy and project manager Cyril Sweett Group PLC (AIM: CSG) said it has been appointed to work on the ‘crystalline’ tower, with 385 metres the highest building planned in The King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The KAFD is a mega scale new development in the heart of the capital.  The focal point of the KAFD is the Financial Plaza which contains the five tallest towers in the scheme, of which the tallest is the 'crystalline' tower which will house Saudi Arabia’s Capital Market Authority.

The CMA will occupy the upper section of the tower whilst the remainder of the floors are to be leased to other financial organizations and banks.  Cyril Sweett will be providing cost and project management services on the CMA tower project, which is being designed jointly by HOK and Omrania & Associates.

The tower will join the top-table of world tall towers. The project is due to complete beginning of 2012.

In charge of the masterplan for KAFD is Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects, which is also leading the architectural and engineering works for the Murjan Tower in Bahrain, which will become the tallest building in the world once it is completed.

Cyril Sweett floated on the AIM market of the LSE in October 2007. Founded in 1928, the group has 30 offices throughout the United Kingdom, Australia, France, India, Ireland, Singapore, Spain and the United Arab Emirates.
