3Legs Resources prepares for long term testing after Poland’s largest frack

3Legs Resources (LON:3LEG) is preparing its Lublewo well for clean-up and long term testing following the completion of the largest multi-stage fracking programme in Poland to date.

The programme comprised 25 stages, executed across 1,469 metres, and saw 7.7mln lbs (almost 3,500 tonnes) of sand injected under pressure into the shale well.

Working alongside ConocoPhilips, 3Legs has drilled eight wells and fracked six of them. Previously, in 2011, the largest frack carried out by the company saw 2.9mln lbs of sand used in 13 stages across 1,000 metres.

"We are now into the final phase of our 2013/14 drilling programme, namely the stimulation and testing of our long lateral section at the Lublewo LEP-1ST1H well,” said chief executive Kamlesh Parmar.

“We are confident that we have incorporated all the available learnings we have acquired to date into the design and execution of the stimulation programme, and that we have taken all steps to ensure that the forthcoming well test has every chance of success.

“We are pleased to be continuing to implement our 2013/14 drilling programme on time and as announced last November, and we look forward to sharing further news with the market in due course."
