RedFlow (ASX:RFX) has appointed Bernie Reinke as its general manger sales – Asia Pacific as part of its plan to develop a pipeline of sales opportunities and orders for its unique zinc-bromine batteries (ZBM).

This follows the recent appointment of Mike Robson as its vice president sales – Americas.

Reinke was previously the company’s general manager global sales but left in 2012 when it underwent significant restructuring and refocussing.

He has over 20 years’ experience in management and technology with an extensive and proven track record in executive management; international relations; global sales, marketing and business development.

Reinke has held regional executive and leadership positions focused on the communications, energy storage and defence industries.

RedFlow’s unique ZBM batteries have made significant progress in the last 18 months, placing it in a good position to focus on completing the transition to volume manufacturer by its contract with Flextronics, and converting the sales pipeline to firm orders.

This then has the potential for RedFlow to carve out a position in the growing energy storage market, which Lux Research has estimated could be worth a potential $114 billion with zinc bromine batteries expected to have a 19% market share.
