Mining Group Limited (ASX: MNE) will be encouraged after confirming underground copper mineralisation up to 29% within IOCG style veins at its El Roble project in Chile from sampling results.
Mineralisation, although continuous, occurs as lenses in pinch and swell style, strike extensive vein systems, with widths to over 12 metres.
Current workings at Descubridora and Veta Gruesa veins have only encountered the main high grade ore shoots which are now exposed from stockpile sampling in the mine floor.
Descubridora vein ore is currently being extracted from the south western end of the adit and being shipped as direct smelter ore. The vein has been mapped continuously along strike for over 3.5 kilometres.
The Veta Guesa vein has been mapped and sampled within numerous adits, indicating mineralisation over a 400 metre strike length, with the entire structure mapped on surface at more than 3 kilometres.
Sampling within the False Estaca Vein has exhibited an average grade of 6.13% copper and 0.44 grams per tonne gold and is open to the east and down dip.
Results indicate potential sources of high grade ore exist along strike and down dip that may support a small scale mining operation.
