Ormonde Mining’s (LON:ORM) application for a licence for its Barruecopardo tungsten mine development in Spain received only one response during the public consultation period.

It was “highly significant” to get such a low response at this critical stage of the permitting process, the company said, adding that it had responded to the one submission in full.

Presentations to various community groups and public bodies at local, provincial and regional level have also been well received, said the company.

Ormonde submitted its documentation for the permit at Barruecopardo, in Salamanca, last July and today added it had received confirmation from the region’s mines department that the paperwork meets its requirements.

Kerr Anderson, Ormonde's managing director, said the response to proposals for Barruecopardo had endorsed all the work that went into the preparation of the documentation.
