Ortac Resources recruits experienced stockbroker ahead of key milestones

Gold explorer Ortac Resources (LON:OTC) has enlisted a new non-executive director to its board.

Paul Heber, who the Slovakia-focused company says has extensive experience in global stock markets and growth resource businesses, will join the board with immediate effect.

His appointment will strengthen the board ahead of what is a “transformational” period for Ortac, as it nears the completion of the pre-feasibility study at its mature Šturec gold and silver deposit in central Slovakia.

“I am delighted to welcome Paul to our growing and highly skilled board of directors and management at this exciting time for Ortac,” said chief executive Vassilios Carellas.

“His wealth of experience in global stock markets as well as his experience on the boards of other growth resource companies will be invaluable to our team as we progress the company towards our goal of becoming a commercial producer of precious metals in the near term.”

Heber has more than 20 years’ experience in global stock markets and has held senior positions at SGHambros Investment Management, Natwest Stockbrokers Ltd and WI Carr .

Since 2003, he has been a director of bespoke boutique Savoy Investment Management, which has over £1.2 billion in private and institutional funds under its watch.

He is also a director at Zimbabwe investment company Cambria Africa (LON:CMB) and Tanzania-focused Shanta Gold (LON:SHG).
