Why Mayfair 101 invested in Smart City Bright Innovations

James Mawhinney says Mayfair 101 invested in Bright Innovations because of the fund's interest in the growth opportunities of smart city technology, and also because (to quote The Economist) "data is the new oil".

Bright Innovations Chairman Jon Brett says the company is targeting an IPO, and continues to expand its smart city technology with a rollout to a Melbourne residential estate.

Brett is a former director of Vocus Communications (ASX:VOC), an ASX top 100 company.
