Peninsula Mines shoring up graphite operations in battery-hungry South Korea

Peninsula Mines Ltd (ASX:PSM) managing director Jon Dugdale updates Proactive Investors on development of the battery metals-focused company’s graphite projects and base metals exploration in South Korea.

“The total of Gapyeong, which is 85% of the exploration target, and our other two projects … is 13-17 million tonnes at 8-11% graphite for 1.1-1.4 million tonnes of contained graphite,” Dugdale says.

He continues, “the next step, which is the key step, is to drill those exploration targets and convert them to maiden mineral resources.”

In parallel the company is conducting downstream processing test work to demonstrate to potential offtake partners that it can produce a high-purity 99.95% spherical graphite product.
