Frontier IP on UK innovation and commercialising university spin outs

Frontier IP (LON:FIPP) chief executive Neil Crabb says now is a favourable time to be in the business of helping helps universities, research houses and companies commercialise their intellectual property.

The UK is bursting with innovation, Crabb reckons, and Frontier’s business model of building and growing a portfolio of equity stakes in spin-out companies is only going to gain traction.

Frontier’s portfolio currently includes 17 companies, including two at Cambridge University, where entities have been established to exploit IP arising from researchers at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.
