The AIM-listed explorer said that the blast had covered a mainly barren zone to prepare access to 10 meter benches (narrow strips of land cut into the side of open-pit mines) closer to the project’s ROM Pad (where ore is deposited) and crusher plant in the fast track mining area.

The company added that the blast had continued to open up more directly accessible ore to the mine operation.
Michael Masterman, the group’s chairman, said the blast was a “significant event” and “kicks-off the commencement of hard rock mining operations”.
Going forward, the company said the immediate priority was to complete the commissioning of a jig & mill plant which was underway in parallel with the completion of a large-scale concentrator plant at the site.
