BlueRock shines as it nets over US$150,000 from sale of two diamonds

BlueRock Diamonds PLC (LON:BRD) shares sparkled in early deals after netting over US$150,000 from the sale of two diamonds recovered from its Kareevlei mine in South Africa.

The miner said the 8.97-and 16.28-carat diamonds had been sold for US$74,513 and US$78,947 respectively.

In terms of valuation, the 8.97 diamond was US$8,306 per carat, while the 16.28 was US$4,849 per carat.

Adam Waugh, chief executive of BlueRock, said the sales further strengthened the company’s confidence in the “potential” of the mine and the quality of diamonds produced.

Shares were up 3.6% at 0.28p.
