Cullen Resources discovers new gold anomalies from aircore drilling at Mt Eureka

The program was a compilation of aeromagnetic and ground magnetics interpretation, previous drilling, soil geochemistry and mapping.

Cullen Resources Limited (ASX:CUL) has identified new gold anomalies from aircore drilling at the Mt Eureka project in WA's Northeast Goldfields.

Assay data has been received and compiled from reconnaissance aircore drilling completed in November 2018.

This program comprised 76 holes for 3,009 metres at four targets - Eureka NW, Southern-Galway, Graf’s Find and Irwin Bore.

Gold results were returned from all targets with the best being 15 metres at 0.55 g/t and 5 metres at 1.16 g/t at Southern, and 5 metres at 0.92 g/t at Eureka NW.

Results confirm key target region

Results confirm that the western granite-greenstone contact and associated structures, including the Eureka NW, Southern-Galway and Graf’s Find prospects, is a key target region along 10 kilometres of prospective strike.

  • Eureka NW - Two traverses were completed and spaced 50 metres along strike to the south of an historical intersection of 8 metres at 2.9 g/t from 70 metres and targeted the granite-greenstone contact. Gold anomalies which include 10 metres at 0.27 g/t and 5  metes at 0.92 g/t indicate an extension to the south of the gold mineralisation.

  • Southern-Galway - Aircore traverses tested an unexplored northeast-southwest fault and interpreted felsic intrusive to the southeast of Southern, a possible southern extension of the Galway mineralisation and possible northwest controlling faults at Southern with further RC drilling. Gold intersections at Southern include 15 metres at 0.55 g/t and 5 metres at 1.16 g/t.

  • Graf’s Find - Two traverses investigated an interpreted felsic intrusive along its western fault-bounded contact and northwest-southeast faults in the vicinity of a TerraleachTM gold-in-soil anomaly. A single modest gold anomaly was returned from a chert where further drilling is warranted.

  • Irwin Bore - Three traverse lines of drilling targeted stratigraphy along strike of VTEM conductors in nickel prospective terrain. Bedrock in holes MEAC18045-55 was dominantly mafic with a modest gold anomaly in MEAC 18047 in chert. Holes MEAC 18056-59 were drilled on the eastern granite-greenstone contact and returned 5 metres at 0.15 g/t silver in a quartz-veined section of granite.
