New Age Beverages Corporation (NASDAQ:NBEV) announced on Friday the appointment of Gregory Gould as its new chief financial and administrative officer.
Gould has more than 20 years of finance experience in a variety of biotech companies such as Evolve biologics, Aytu Bioscience and Atrix Laboratories among others. Gould replaces John Price, who is departing for personal family reasons, a company statement said.
"With the impending growth of our CBD-infused portfolio and the other products in the Health Sciences Division, we felt we needed to strengthen our leadership team with more experience in the Life Sciences and Biotech areas," said New Age Beverages CEO Brent Willis.
New Age Beverage stock was up 4% to $6.19 in early trade on Friday.
New Age stock has surged sharply over the last few weeks as it was swept up in the cannabis craze, especially with the legalization of recreational use of marijuana in Canada set for Wednesday, October 17.
Gould led multiple successful uplistings, financings, mergers and exits in these firms including the sale of Atrix for $855 million.
New Age Beverages is an organic and natural beverage company. It is based in Denver, Colorado.
