Sensera Ltd (ASX:SE1) has released a new version of its location tracking software that is used with its wireless sensors.

The company manufactures a family of proprietary microdevices and sensor systems that serve the medtech, industrial, defence and aerospace markets.

Its nanotron division provides hardware and software that enables location tracking for farm animals, mine safety and productivity, where its wireless tracking solution enables clients worldwide.

The new software version allows Sensera to accurately and reliably track up to 5,000 distinct objects in real time, more than double the scope of existing commercial installations.

Sensera’s Dr Jens Albers said: "Scalability is the key factor for the operational and economic viability of any modern tracking solution.

“The new nanoLES 3 5K release has more than doubled our tracking capacity.

“This has become necessary as our new deployments of farms have increased approximately 5x in animal density.

“This continues to validate our technology as truly production level in large scale applications."

Sensors used on farms and mine sites

Sensera is a leading sensor and wireless communications company in the rapidly growing global wireless sensor networks, internet of things (IoT) market.

For example, the company’s sensors can be used at a cattle farm to monitor animal health and location.

Another example of the company’s end-to-end sensor solutions would be at a mine site, where vehicles and people can be tracked for both efficiency and safety purposes.

New software ideal for dairy farms

The new nanoLES 3 5K software is ideal for the company’s lead market of livestock health.

Customers use it to accurately track dairy cows and their calves in real time by processing location data collected from wireless ear tags.

Solutions based on nanoLES are helping farmers better manage their livestock and reduce the medication doses needed for keeping animals healthy.
