Tando Resources Ltd (ASX:TNO) has intersected high-grade copper and zinc at the Quartz Bore project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
A maiden drilling program has delivered 7 metres at 6.44% copper and 3.21% zinc within a broader intersection of 17 metres at 2.95% copper and 1.48% zinc from 340.5 metres.
The 7-metre intersection also included 2 metres at 14.3% copper and 6.33% zinc.
This result is interpreted to represent a copper-rich volcanic centre within the Balla Balla VMS system.
Strong anomalies detected
Surveying of a second hole detected strong, coincident DHEM and DHMMR anomalies interpreted to represent the extension of mineralisation intersected in an historical drill hole.
Drilling of similar anomalies at the adjacent Salt Creek deposit of Venturex Resources Ltd (ASX:VXR) intersected grades including 18.7 metres at 2.42% copper and 9.85 metres at 8.76% zinc.
Review of drilling underway
A review of all drilling is underway based on assay results and geological/geophysical logging focusing on near-surface mineralisation with the potential to delineate open pittable resources.
The Quartz Bore project is adjacent to new discoveries in the Pilbara by De Grey Mining Ltd (ASX:DEG), DGO Gold Ltd (ASX:DGO) and Venturex Resources.
