Todd River Resources Ltd (ASX:TRT) has identified high-grade lithium when conducting infill rock chip sampling of pegmatites at its Walabanba Project in the Northern Territory.
The results from the Bismark Prospect which is part of the Walabanba project featured a maximum lithium grade of 4.63% lithium.
The best grade was associated with spodumene-quartz pegmatite and albite-spodumene-quartz pegmatite.
Widespread mineralisation in areas sampled
In total, there were 15 rock samples which returned assays of greater than 1% lithium spread over several pegmatite bodies within an area of 350 metres x 400 metres
The best lithium results were returned from areas hosted by amphibolite and found on the nose of a fold in the bedrock sequence.
Broad multi-element support is provided in lithium-associated elements, indicative of mineralisation often associated with lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) type host pegmatites.
This information combined with further analysis in coming months will provide the basis for the company’s 2018 exploration program which may include drilling.
