dorsaVi Ltd (ASX:DVL) has secured a Federal Government Advanced Manufacturing Growth Fund grant of $1.1 million to support enhancements to its current manufacturing facilities.
The company is focused on developing innovative motion analysis device technologies for use in elite sports, occupational health & safety and clinical applications.
The federal fund focuses on advanced manufacturing activities that will boost innovation, skills and employment opportunities.
Significantly, the grant will be used to support the purchase of robotic loaders, optical tracking equipment and calibration equipment.
Additionally, the funding will enable dorsaVi to further expand its manufacturing capacity, reduce the cost of sensors and enhance its ability to quickly respond to orders from large clients.
dorsaVi's revolutionary wireless technology is designed to accurately and objectively measure and analyse the way people move.
These tiny instruments include accelerometers, magnetometers and gyroscopes, which precisely measures how people bend, twist and step.
dorsaVi's patented algorithms used in these components allow it to accurately measure movement at a variety of different places on the human body.
For example, muscle activity sensors measure the activity of muscles near the surface of the skin using adhesive electrodes.
The new grant will be spent over a three-year period and will be supplemented with additional investment from dorsaVi.
