BrainChip Holdings (ASX:BRN) has won the Security Today magazine’s ‘New Product of the Year Award 2017’ in the video analytics category for its BrainChip Studio software suite.
Now in its ninth year, Security Today’s new product of the year award honours outstanding products considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve security.
BrainChip is a developer of software and hardware accelerated solutions for advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning applications.
The company’s BrainChip Studio is a video analytics software which uses an artificial intelligence technology called Spiking Neuron Adaptive Processor (SNAP).
SNAP technology can learn autonomously, evolve and associate information like the human brain.
BrainChip’s software works with low-resolution video, even in noisy environments, and requires only a 24x24 pixel image to detect and classify faces and objects.
The company recently signed an agreement with the French National Police to perform the evaluation of BrainChip’s forensic video analytic technologies.
The French Police will evaluate the technology, which enables scanning through recorded video to search for identifying characteristics such as faces, body shapes, and clothes patterns.
BrainChip is well funded with circa US$4.45 million in cash at the end of the June quarter.
