TV2U International (ASX:TV2) has signed a letter of intent with FibraRede in South Brazil, to provide a managed OTT (over-the-top) service for the delivery of Brazilian and other Latin American content.
These will include live TV channels, movies on-demand and audio content to be served to Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines and Australia.
The company’s shares were last trading 11% higher intra-day, at $0.02.
TV2U is an entertainment platform that enables businesses, such as telecommunications companies, to offer streaming over-the-top (OTT) content to their customers.
Consumers will be able to view the content via a set-top-box and other devices including smartphones, tablets and PCs.
The opportunity will leverage the technology deployed at SOL Telecom, and TV2U will work together with FibraRede for the distribution of the content.
TV2U will provide its customised player applications and analytical platform for profiling the consumer’s viewing habits, with the expectation that services will further extend into targeted advertising.
Initial tests for the service will be carried out over the next month and the parties intend to work together to agree on the commercial terms within the next quarter.
TV2U also expects to roll out the services using its newly created Ivan-X web-based solution, making time to market within the identified regions quickly.
It is anticipated that services could hard launch as early as the beginning of 2018.
