Aquabotix recently secured a U.S. Navy order

UUV Aquabotix’s (ASX:UUV) underwater drone ‘Endura’ has been placed on the U.S. government’s GSA (General Services Administration) Schedule.

The GSA is an agency of the U.S. government that supplies products for government offices.

As part of this effort, it maintains the GSA Schedule, which other U.S. government agencies can use to buy goods and services.

The Endura underwater drone is now available to U.S. government agencies with the click of a button.

Aquabotix became the world’s only publicly traded underwater drone company in April 2017, after raising A$7 million from an oversubscribed offer.

The company recently secured an order to deliver an unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) for the U.S. Navy, following a competitive bidding process.

Aquabotix is expected to generate a revenue of circa A$125,000 from the U.S. Navy order.

The sale illustrates the increased focus of the world’s militaries on the unmanned underwater domain.

Aquabotix makes 10 models of camera-equipped underwater drones, one of which can operate autonomously in some circumstances. The rest are piloted by remote control.

The company has shipped circa 350 underwater drones since sales commenced in 2011.

Aquabotix recorded a revenue of A$1.1 million in 2016, a number that is expected to double in 2017.
