Ord River Resources on track to complete Laos Project feasibility study

Ord River Resources (ASX: ORD) has updated progress at the Laos Project feasibility study and is confident that the study, including the reporting for the LSI tenement, will be completed by end of 2010.

ORD holds a 49% interest in Sino Australian Resources (Laos) Co., Ltd (SARCO), a joint venture company between ORD and China Nonferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd (NFC).

SARCO contracted Sinomine Resource Exploration Co., Ltd to carry out a feasibility study valued at A$5.3 million.

The company aims to increase the overall resource at the aluminium project and make recommendations for mining and refinery investment.

The field team has now returned to China to do further analysis and reporting during the current wet season. The team is planning to start returning to Laos in October.

In July project contractor Sinomine Resource Exploration Co., Ltd. carried out project work including:

LSI Tenement

- The topographic survey for LSI, was completed to 5km2.
- 1:5000 geologic mapping was completed to 2km2.
- 1:25000 geologic map surveying was completed to 30km2.
- Survey of exploratory line schedule was completed to 5km.
- Exploration drilling has been drilled to 844.39m
- Location surveyed 107 holes after completion of drill.
- Geological prospecting documentation for minerals was completed to 844.39m.
- Hydrology drilling and engineering geology documentation was completed for 42 holes.
- 300 Samples were collected and sent to the process room.
- Standard penetration and dynamic sounding tested 42 holes.
- 1:25000 Hydrologic engineering and environmental geology Survey was completed to 30km2.
- Measured 42 holes for initial groundwater level and Static Level.
- Sampling for rock‐mineral determination was determined for 20 samples.
- Sample processing for LSI processed 2038 samples.

Yuqida Tenement

- Detailed UXO under high voltage cable.
- Drilled hole verification for Yuqida has completed 5 holes.
- Measurement of control point has measured 3 points.
- Hydrology drilling has drilled 1 hole.
- Past drill hole analysis has completed 183 holes.
- Traverse geological map surveyed 10km.
- Artesian well (Drilling) has drilled 1 hole.
- Surface water survey point has completed 2 points.
- Exploration drilled 1315.17m.
- Geological prospecting documentation for minerals, completed 1315.17m.
- Hydrology drilling and engineering geology documentation has completed 78 holes.
- Standard penetration and dynamic sounding tested 44 holes.
- Measured 44 holes for initial groundwater level and Static Level.
- Construction of temporary shortcut and clear land, completed 10km.

The feasibility study commenced on 1 March 2010. Ord maintains 49% interest in the JV with SARCO until the end of the feasibility study.

A$500,000 has been set aside for ORD’s contribution to the study in the future.
