Property portal Rent.com.au (ASX:RNT) is rolling out a national sales team in first half of 2016 after a trial in Western Australia generated leads from property agents and web traffic.
The company aims to disrupt the current cumbersome process of appartment and housing rentals both for owners and for renters.
The portal has listings from both property agents and non‐agent private landlords and is continuing a push to shift private landlords to the site.
The company is looking to launch more products that make the rental process easier than at present.
The site has registered 2.3 million renters in the past 6 months and included the traditional seasonally slower Christmas market.
A capital raising in late 2015 will focus on fully commercialising the platform with development of technology, product alliances and critical mass of content to engage agent listings as well as non agent landlords.
